I am currently a public health research who has completed a fellowship at UCSF’s Preterm Birth Initiative (PTBi) via being awarded an Internship for Minority Training Program in Cancer Control Research (MTPCCR) which operates out of UCSF and UCLA.
My work as a Fellow involved conducting research into the notion of resilience and how women of color, specifically Black and Latina/Hispanic women, create better birth outcomes through their own use and manifestation of resilience in their lives. This resulted in an article currently being published titled “A Transdisciplinary Conceptual Framework of Contextualized Resilience for Reducing Adverse Birth Outcomes.”
