ABOUT
Working in the field of special education, I have been and educational specialist since 2005 and a teacher on special assignment (TOSA) program specialist for since 2015.
Committed to supporting academic and behavior goals, I began my career in special education working with students with autism in the San Francisco Unified School District school In addition to teaching my own classrooms from K-8th grades for students with multiple disabilities, and case managing at mild to severe levels through post-secondary level, I have supported teachers in their classrooms by providing guidance in the form of curriculum, behavioral and IEP goal development and overall goal support.
I am passionate about providing a respectful and quality focused education for students with all learning styles. I’m driven by a firm belief that all students can be engaged and excel in many aspects of their life and education. Focusing on the whole child/student and improving their quality of life through targeted goals and life plans is critical to success.
My training and education includes an M.A. in cultural/urban anthropology, and a M.P.H focused on trauma informed systems from San Francisco State University.
How I Work
I apply my years of experience and knowledge of building educational goals and transition plans to help strengthen high need skills across the spectrum of student’s needs, from academic, executive functioning, social skills, life skills and secondary transition needs.
When working with organizations or schools, I will work on focused areas in which training or knowledge is needed. From intake to goal setting to support and follow up, I support schools every step of the way with assessments and progress reports to map growth. Every school I work with us unique and my approach is customized to the specific needs of the students, faculty and administration.
When working with families, getting to know you is key. Together we will co-create goals, support and transition plans for the individual and the entire family. LEARN MORE
